Slightly soluble in cold water, dissolves in hot water, can mix and dissolve with alcohol and ether. Can evaporate with water vapor, when it exposes to the air, it is easy to absorb carbon dioxide and then becomes the carbonate.

This product may use in the organic synthesis, also can be used as the dehydrogenation catalyst, the antiseptic, the neutralizer for acid, the accelerator for electron microscope section embedding, also may be used in producing the cationic surface active disinfectant--benzalkonium bromide.
